English with Alecia

Saturdays from 10:00 - 13:00

Specialized English workshops for children aged 2-5, combining Total Physical Response (TPR) and the Montessori Language Method for natural, joyful learning. The lessons are taught using a mixture of teaching aids such as: vocabulary cards with real images, play, songs, books and real life objects.

The Method

Children and adult reaching out with hands extended and palms open, standing on asphalt surface.
Child stacking stones outdoors, with another child visible in the background.
Group of children raising their hands together outside, with some wearing blue wristbands.
A child crouching on a sidewalk, holding a piece of chalk, with a container of colorful chalks nearby, and chalks scattered on the ground.

Montessori Language Principles

We apply Montessori concept of Three-Period Lesson (Name, Recognize, Recall). This introduces new vocabulary in a structured, sequential, and sensory-rich way, ensuring order and lasting retention.

Total Physical Response (TPR)

TPR links language directly to physical action. Children listen to a command ("Jump!", "Run!"), and immediately act it out. This bypasses translation and builds immediate, deep comprehension in the brain's motor centers.

Wooden desk with a closed black laptop, a small vase with a purple flower, a beige desk lamp, a small beige bowl, a stack of beige books, a white notebook, and a white pen. The shadows of the objects are cast on the wall.

Inside the workshops

Every event we host is designed with intention, from the atmosphere we create to the way each session flows.

I: Warm-up & Order

High-energy action songs and "Stop/Go" games to establish auditory focus and routine (Grace & Courtesy).

II: Core Work Cycle

Introduction of Practical Life verbs and Sensory Language using TRP commands

IV: Conversational Bridge

Low-pressure transition from acting to speaking ("What are you doing? I am jumping.") using the Three-Period Lesson.

III: Snack & Rest

Essential break time reinforcing polite language (Please, Thank You) and quiet transition.

Phase V: Ending

Review, verbal recall of concepts, and a calm, orderly "Goodbye" routine to reinforce social skills.
